چکیده

Abstract X-rays spectroscopy experiments at synchrotron facilities were limited for many years by the maximum input count rate and signal-to-background ratio of germanium fluorescence detectors. These limitations are related to semiconductor device, sensor configuration its response incident X-ray flux different energies. In order understand quantify such limitations, physics simulation detector is a powerful tool provide guidelines designing, prototyping improving detectors, as well modelling experimental environments, which reduces time cost development. For this purpose, first complete operational chain based on Allpix Squared framework presented, customized multi-element detectors combined with three-dimensional simulations electric field weighting potential, COMSOL Multiphysics®. Based chain, quantification charge sharing effect beam energies has been made equipped without collimator. addition, two measurements have performed SAMBA beamline SOLEIL synchrotron. The data used set up full good agreements observed between simulation.

Germanium Detectors for the Far

Germanium photoconductors have been used in a variety of infrared astronomical experiments, both airborne and space-based. The bulk of our knowledge of the far-infrared properties of astronomical objects has come from observations made with these detectors. This paper describes the operational theory of these detectors, including amplifier considerations. Examples of recent focal plane array de...

Performance of multi-element CdZnTe detectors

Single-element CdZnTe detectors are limited in size, and therefore efficiency, by the poor hole transport, even with a coplanar grid. We are investigating the possibility of a 27-element (3 × 3 × 3) array using 15 mm × 15 mm × 15 mm elements for gamma-ray energies to 10 MeV for NASA planetary missions. We present experimental results for combinations of various size coplanar grid detectors usin...

Surface characterisation of Germanium detectors

Germanium-detectors are the most sensitive high-resolution γ detectors available and are the instrument in nuclear structure physics which allows important information about the structure of atomic nuclei to be obtained. The technology of High purity Germanium detectors is presented in [1]. The reported work is motivated by the needs for a new mechanical treatment procedure within the manufactu...

Multi-element superconducting nanowire single photon detectors

Single-photon-detector arrays can provide unparalleled performance and detailed information in applications that require precise timing and single photon sensitivity. Such arrays have been demonstrated using a number of single-photon-detector technologies, but the high performance of superconducting nanowire single photon detectors (SNSPDs) and the unavoidable overhead of cryogenic cooling make...

Gamma Spectroscopy with Germanium Detectors

The MAJORANA collaboration[1] aims to detect neutrino-less double beta decay (0νββ) in Ge, using an array of germanium p-type point contact detectors. An important factor in this effort is the minimization of backgrounds from any hardware which is needed to operate the detectors. In order to best understand and minimize this background, one must analyze the gamma spectrum from these pieces of h...
